Brad Battin
Web Developer, Biz Strategist, Graphic Designer, 5-Time Marathoner, and 80s Music Lover
What can I say? I get excited about this work. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2005 to become a teacher, but I discovered shortly after graduation that my competitive tendencies were better satisfied by business. And while managing businesses isn't the same as teaching in a school, I found that this teaching experience served me well with team management.
Born in 1980, I have vivid memories of experiencing two decades that, like them or hate them, were very unique. In the late 80s and early 90s, I was an active lad with interests in running, skiing, hiking, bicycles, motorcycles, volleyball, and really anything that could be done outdoors.
This love for the outdoors and activity stayed with me into adulthood and this is where I pick up my story about my working career. Instead of pursuing teaching as a career, I chose to help introduce others to the outdoors by working for the first decade and a half of my career in the outdoor industry. It was here, and later in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, that most of my professional experience comes from.
"...bringing a passion to any job can yield greater results than mere talent."
We can talk at length about previous experience, but when it really comes down to it, I just really enjoy business and design. I believe that bringing a passion to any job can yield greater results than mere talent. That’s not to say that we are not bringing talent to the table, but I believe that it’s our drive and commitment to you, our potential clients, that is going to contribute to your success.
If you'd like to see a few more examples of my work, you can view my portfolio. I look forward to working with you!

Writing, Editing, Photography, Video, Fiction Author, and Coffee Expert
Writing is the method that allows me to express myself, and it is through this passion that I aim to help others. My whole life I've been a writer, even if I didn't always realize it. I have always liked a good story. It is this appreciation of a good story that allows me to see what a business needs to say in their copy. A well-written brand story is key in today's marketplace.
The experience I have had as a freelance writer over the past five years has taught me a lot. I have learned how to transform my voice into the voice of the company I am working for, and it is this part of the process that is crucial in developing an effective final product.
I believe that well-written copy must have a creative spin to be engaging...
Besides being a freelance writer, I also work for my sister's small massage business, MVL Wellness. I have experience writing newsletters, website copy, advertising copy, blog articles, and more. I am also a fiction writer, which helps me put a creative spin on the business writing I do. I believe that well-written copy must have a creative spin to be engaging, which is crucial to being effective.
I graduated from Plymouth State University in 2015 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. I also hold a M.F.A. in Creative Writing - Fiction from New England College, where I graduated in 2018. Outside of writing, I enjoy history, cinema, and lots and lots of coffee.
